Ligeramente efervescente, Pizzicato está elaborado con la variedad de moscatel de Hamburgo, una uva tinta de origen alemán, resultado de un cruce entre las variedades moscatel de Alejandría y Trollinger (cultivada en la zona italiana del Sur del Tirol). NOTA sobre su elaboración: Una vez el vino se ha filtrado y está listo para ser embotellado, se le añade una pequeña dosis de gas carbónico.

The production region of D.O. Penedès is located in La región catalana del Penedés, en España. Comprende 47 términos municipales en el sur de la provincia de Barcelona, y 16 términos municipales en la provincia de Tarragona. Se divide en tres subzonas: Penedès Superior, situada en el interior y en la montaña, con escasa producción debido a las condiciones de cultivo, pero de una gran calidad, Penedès Medio, situada al sudeste y la de mayor producción, y Penedès Inferior en la zona costera.
