El Reserva de Finca La Emperatriz es, en palabras de Luis Gutiérrez, del equipo de Robert Parker, un Reserva de Rioja de manual. En él se conjugan los dos estilos, clásico y moderno. En un mismo vino encontramos la excelencia de una fruta de gran calidad, madura y fresca, la que ofrecen estos viñedos situados en la parte más elevada de la Rioja Alta, y las siempre seductoras notas terciarias de los clásicos reservas de Rioja: cacao, tabaco, piel de naranja... Un vino elegante y fresco, con los taninos pulidos y sabrosos, elaborado con el clásico coupage riojano (tempranillo en un 94%, 3% de garnacha, 2% de viura y 1% de graciano), la crianza típica (mayoritariamente barricas de roble americano, 70%), un vino que se supera con cada nueva cosecha.

The production region of D.O.Ca. Rioja is located in Las regiones de las comunidades autónomas de La Rioja y el País Vasco mayoritariamente, y en menor medida de Navarra y Castilla y León. Por la diversidad orográfica y climática se distinguen tres subzonas de producción: Rioja Alta (76 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 1, Miranda de Ebro, en la provincia de Burgos, Castilla y León), Rioja Baja (42 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 8 en Navarra) y Rioja Alavesa (15 términos municipales en la provincia de Álava, País Vasco).
