Una varietal históricamente olvidado por su poco color, escaso grado y dificultad de maduración, que la familia Ferrer-Sanmartín empezó a recuperar a finales de los 90 en la Terra Alta. La plantaron en la parcela Obaga del Tomaset orientada al norte, donde la variedad parece haberse adaptado a la perfección. Un «vi vermell» que recibe el nombre de El Templari por la recuperación de dicha variedad y como homenaje a los caballeros templarios que recuperaban el cultivo de la viña en la Edad Media. Un delicioso y escaso tinto criado durante 8 meses en jarras de barro y del que tan solo se han elaborado 3.258 botellas. Envejecido durante 13 meses en barricas de roble francés.
