El Pedal es el nuevo proyecto de los Hermanos Hernáiz. Un coupage de distintas parcelas de una Rioja más mediterránea y golosa pese a estar elaborado con uva tempranillo proveniente de Rioja Alta, concretamente de los pueblos de Fuenmayor, Cenicero, Navarrete, Hornos de Moncalvillo y Baños de Rioja. Frutas rojas, piruleta de fresa, especias y regaliz y un ligero tostado. Es un vino fresco, desenfadado, directo, para tomar a una temperatura más baja de lo que estamos acostumbrados. Criado durante 5 meses en depósito de cemento, tina de madera de 5.000 litros y barricas usadas de 500 litros. Antes del embotellado se añade un 10% de vino de la cosecha anterior que ha permanecido 12 meses en barrica de roble.

Por la diversidad orográfica y climática se distinguen tres subzonas de producción: Rioja Alta (76 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 1, Miranda de Ebro, en la provincia de Burgos, Castilla y León), Rioja Baja (42 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 8 en Navarra) y Rioja Alavesa (15 términos municipales en la provincia de Álava, País Vasco).
