En el 1902 el comandante del Ejército de Tierra Don Rafael Cruz Conde fundó las «Bodegas Cruz Conde». Bajo la denominación de origen Montilla-Moriles comenzó a elaborar vinos generosos, blancos, Pedro Ximénez y también brandies. En 1920 incorpora a la gama de productos una línea de anises y brandies de calidad superior, creando así «Destilerías La Cordobesa». En la actualidad tradición y avances tecnológicos marcan su tendencia, para poder ofrecer vinos y licores con los mejores atributos.

Montilla-Moriles is located in 17 Municipios andaluces situados en la provincia de Córdoba, en España: Aguilar de la Frontera, Montilla, Moriles, Doña Mencía, Montalbán de Córdoba, Monturque, Nueva Carteya y Puente Genil, así como en parte de Baena, Cabra, Castro del Río, Espejo, Fernán-Núñez, La Rambla, Lucena, Montemayor y Santaella.
