La familia Mothe es propietaria de viñas desde 1887, Jean-Louis Mothe empezó a embotellar y a vender vinos bajo su propio nombre en la década de los ochenta. Actualmente, está dirigido por los tres hermanos Jean-Louis, Thierry y Vincent Mothe que cultivan un poco más de 55 hectáreas de viñedo en Chablis.
