Barossa Valley es una de las regiones vitivinícolas más reputadas del mundo y donde se encuentran algunos viñedos históricos, algunos de ellos plantados en 1840. Allí, en 1994, David Powell fundó Torbreck. Empezó realizando pequeñas cuvées parcelarias que enseguida recibieron las más elevadas puntuaciones de la crítica internacional. En 2008 realizó una ampliación de la pequeña bodega siguiendo siempre la vinificación por parcelas. The Struie es un delicioso shiraz elaborado a partir de dos viejos viñedos de Barossa Valley y de Eden Valley. Un ensamblaje perfecto entre elegancia e intensidad con aromas de frutas negras, violetas, café y un toque de chocolate. En la boca es profundo, con una fantástica textura y rehúye de las sobremaduraciones y grandes volúmenes a los que nos tienen acostumbrados el estereotipo frecuente de los vinos del «Nuevo Mundo». Una gran botella de placer de uno de los grandes del hemisferio sur.
