Únicamente los años en los que la uva es excepcional se elabora este gran reserva de producción limitada procedente del viñedo «Vinya La Scala», una pequeña parcela de 8 hectáreas plantada en 1963. Considerado el primer vino elaborado mayoritariamente con la variedad cabernet sauvignon de España y elegido como vino oficial en la investidura de Ronald Reagan en la Casa Blanca en 1981, su nombre rinde homenaje al restaurante fundado por Jean Leon en Beverly Hills en el Hollywood Dorado. En cada nueva añada, la etiqueta está ilustrada por un artista reconocido.

The production region of D.O. Penedès is located in La región catalana del Penedés, en España. Comprende 47 términos municipales en el sur de la provincia de Barcelona, y 16 términos municipales en la provincia de Tarragona. Se divide en tres subzonas: Penedès Superior, situada en el interior y en la montaña, con escasa producción debido a las condiciones de cultivo, pero de una gran calidad, Penedès Medio, situada al sudeste y la de mayor producción, y Penedès Inferior en la zona costera.
