Este vino acogido bajo la denominación Saint-Émilion Grand Cru fue creado en 1992 como segundo vino. Desde 1997, por su calidad ya se le considera un primer vino que brilla con luz propia. Procedente de los viñedos de Château de Valandraud (Virginie es el nombre de la hija de Jean-Luc Thunevin), se cultiva y vinifica con los mismos métodos que para Château Valandraud, por el mismo equipo y bajo la dirección de Murielle Andraud, esposa de Thunevin. Envejecido durante 18-20 meses en barricas nuevas.

The production region of A.O.C. Saint-Émilion is located in La comarca de Libourne, en la margen derecha de la Dordoña. Está registrado como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y sus 5.400 hectáreas representan el 67,5% de la superficie total de las comunas vitivinícolas (Saint-Émilion, Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, Saint-Hippolyte, Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, Saint-Laurent-des- Combes, Saint-Pey-d'Armens, Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens, Vignonet, y una parte de la comuna de Libourne) y el 6% del total de viñedos de Burdeos.
