Cortezada procede de la viña del Pazo do Couto, una pieza de cerca de dos hectáreas de extensión en el que se encuentra un antiguo lagar. Situado en la ribera del Sil, a 400 metros de altitud, recibe un clima atlántico, con influencia mediterránea. Envejecido durante 12 meses en barricas de roble francés.
