La cagnulari es una uva tinta que seguramente se extendió por Cerdeña a lo largo del siglo XVII y que hoy se localiza en una restringida zona de la provincia de Sassari. En los suelos arcillosos y calcáreos de este soleado paraje, concretamente en Usini, el productor Giovanni Cherchi llevó a cabo un proceso de recuperación de antiguas variedades que le ha permitido multiplicar las pocas cepas de cagnulari con el fin de elaborar un vino monovarietal que permite disfrutar en pureza de esta variedad. Un vino de calidad, simple, típico y local. En copa se muestra de brillante e intenso color rubí y emana aromas de frutos rojos (grosellas, fresas y frambuesas maduras), ciruela, mora, geranio y cuero. La nota femenina la pone el recuerdo de rosas blancas y el carácter del terroir emerge con exuberancia tras las notas de arbusto mediterráneo. En boca se muestra pleno y placentero, sabroso y fresco, de una agradable suavidad que recuerda a la fruta madura. Un vino adictivo y de trago placentero, una botella de las que roban el corazón.
