Elaborado a partir de cepas centenarias, plantadas en 1903 por José Pouza, en el pago nº 5 llamado Viña de Sapita. Este viñedo esta ubicado entre 700 y 900 metros de altitud, sobre suelos de gran concentración mineral, debido al hierro y al molibdeno de la pizarra. Envejecido durante un mínimo 21 meses en barricas de roble francés.
