Un vino elaborado con la variedad nebbiolo junto a una pequeña aportación de barbera que le otorga potencia y complejidad y a la vez un increíble equilibrio. Un vino fresco y balsámico, pero también envolvente.
Gaja estuvo entre los primeros productores que, hace cuarenta años, comenzaron a embotellar y etiquetar por separado las distintas fincas. Hace sólo 15 años, su Barolo salió al mercado como Sperss®, es decir como un vino de finca. Los críticos con más influencia internacional como Robert Parker, Alessandro Masnaghetti, Michele Bettane, Joël Payne y Armin Diel siempre conceden la máxima valoración a los vinos parcelarios de GAJA. Aun así un Barbaresco o un Barolo sin identificación de finca no tienen por qué ser menos apreciados por los amantes y conocedores del vino que un vino de finca (en palabras de Angelo Gaja).
