Juan Piernas rinde homenaje al abuelo del fundador de la bodega, comerciante y transportista de vino. Es un vino que apuesta claramente por la alta expresión de la monastrell de una sola parcela, de cepas de más de 40 años. Se elabora por gravedad, y la fermentación alcohólica se lleva a cabo en las mismas barricas de 500 l en que posteriormente realizará la crianza. Envejece 7 meses en barricas de roble francés de 500 L.
