The production region of D.O. Tarragona is located in Parte central de la provincia de Tarragona. Se pueden distinguir dos zonas: Zona del Camp de Tarragona, la parte meridional que es una llanura y la parte septentrional, más hacia la costa, de montaña baja, buena parte de la ribera del río Ebro (Rivera d'Ebre), a su paso por la provincia de Tarragona.
