Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (A.O.C.) A.O.C. Alsace.
The production region of A.O.C. Alsace is located in La región de Alsacia, en Francia, y es principalmente vino blanco. La geografía de la zona vitícola de Alsacia está determinada por las montañas de los Vosgos en el oeste y el río Rin en el este. Los viñedos se concentran en una franja estrecha, que corre aproximadamente en dirección norte-sur, en las laderas orientales inferiores de los Vosgos. Debido a su influencia germánica, es la única región de Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée en Francia que produce principalmente vinos varietales, típicamente de variedades de uva similares a las utilizadas en el vino alemán. Junto con Austria y Alemania, produce algunos de los Riesling secos más conocidos en el mundo, así como vinos altamente aromáticos de Gewürztraminer. Se producen vinos blancos tanto secos como dulces.
