El Alte Reben de Barzen es un riesling de cosecha tardía pero sin llegar a ser considerado un vino dulce, es un vino seco que no esconde no obstante esa sutil dulzura del Mosel alemán. Es un blanco de sabor intenso, elegante, un vino de calidad, una edición Alte Reben, elaborado con uvas riesling de cepas centenarias, prefiloxéricas, plantadas en el año 1886 por la familia Barzen, uno de los viñedos más antiguos de nuestro planeta (en Alemania apenas quedan 10 hectáreas de viñedos plantados en el siglo XIX). Se recomienda airear antes de degustar. El vino ha obtenido una ligera crianza en barricas usadas de roble alemán y francés de 225l.
