"Vino de reyes y el Rey de los vinos." Así es como definía Louis XIV los vinos Tokay. Vinos dulces con unas características excepcionales debido a su elaboración, un coupage de vino seco mezclado con uvas aszú, uvas en las que la botritis (o podredumbre noble) ha ejercido un trabajo de deshidratación del fruto hasta provocar una alta concentración de azúcar de forma totalmente natural y sin perder acidez. Este grado de azúcar se calcula en puttonyos (3, 5 o 6); cuanto más elevado el número de puttonyos, mayor concentración de azúcar. Se trata de un vino, además, que ha permanecido en barricas durante tres años, un proceso de envejecimiento que le confiere una riqueza de aromas naturales, una estructura y una complejidad únicas. Envejecido en barricas de roble húngaro Zeplén durante 3 años.
