En 1976, gracias al impulso de Doroteo Sáenz de Samaniego, empezaron a vender vino joven embotellado. A mediados de los 90 sacaron su primer crianza y en el año 2000 dan un salto espectacular gracias a los consejos de Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus). Escobal es una selección de los mejores tempranillos de una parcela que es la primera en cultivarse en ecológico. Un Rioja cargado de fruta para disfrutar en comidas ligeras de verano.

The production region of D.O.Ca. Rioja is located in Las regiones de las comunidades autónomas de La Rioja y el País Vasco mayoritariamente, y en menor medida de Navarra y Castilla y León. Por la diversidad orográfica y climática se distinguen tres subzonas de producción: Rioja Alta (76 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 1, Miranda de Ebro, en la provincia de Burgos, Castilla y León), Rioja Baja (42 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 8 en Navarra) y Rioja Alavesa (15 términos municipales en la provincia de Álava, País Vasco).
