Elaborado exclusivamente con uvas del Pago de Chafandín, cuyo viñedo tiene una edad aproximada de 40 años. El vino toma nombre de un famoso bandolero, que en el siglo XIX se refugiaba en las cuevas de la finca dónde actualmente se elabora el vino. Envejecido entre 15 y 20 meses en barricas nuevas de roble francés.

The production region of D.O. Ribera del Duero is located in La región de la cuenca del río Duero, de unos 115 kilómetros de longitud y 35 de anchura, situada en la confluencia de las provincias de Soria, con 19 municipios, Burgos, con 60 municipios, Segovia, con 4 municipios y Valladolid, con 19 municipios, pertenecientes todos ellos a la comarca vallisoletana de Campo de Peñafiel. Comienza aproximadamente por el este en San Esteban de Gormaz y se extiende hasta Quintanilla de Onésimo en el oeste.
