La heterogeneidad de los suelos de las cinco fincas que Castillo de Perelada posee en el Empordà permite elaborar este reserva con una amplia gama de matices: Pont de Molins (merlot y cabernet sauvignon), La Garriga (garnacha, cariñena y syrah), Espolla (cabernet sauvignon y garnacha), Malaveïna (Garnacha, cabernet franc y merlot) y Garbet (merlot u garnacha). Envejecido durante 19 meses en barricas de roble francés (50%) y americano (50%) y, posteriormente, en botella.

The production region of D.O. Empordà is located in La región de Ampurdán (Empordà), hasta 2006 denominada Ampurdán-Costa Brava, abarca la zona vinícola desde la Albera hasta la sierra de Rodas y la Garrotxa de Ampurdán, en España. El área de producción está distribuida en dos subzonas: 35 municipios al norte del Alto Ampurdán y 13 municipios al este del Bajo Ampurdán.
