En 1989, Jean-Luc Thunevin y su mujer, Murielle Andraud, adquirieron una pequeña parcela de 0,6 ha en el pequeño valle de Saint-Émilion y comenzaron la aventura Valandraud con su primera añada en 1991. Desde entonces han adquirido otras parcelas y propiedades, sobre todo en Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens, Saint-Émilion y Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse. Envejecido durante 18-20 meses en barricas nuevas.
