Château que debe su nombre a Carlomagno, quien en el año 769 hizo construir un campo fortificado e instaló su propia tienda en la cima de su colina. El château actual, construido entre el siglo XV y XVI, se encuentra situado en la comuna de Saillans y su arquitectura de torres circulares lo convierte en uno de los Châteaux más bellos de la zona. Su vino es uno de los de mayor prestigio del Fronsac. Envejecido durante 18-20 meses en barricas de roble francés.
