Lluna Vella se elabora de forma similar a su hermano de bodega La Guinardera y son ambos monovarietales de garnacha. Su principal diferencia, la orientación. Mientras que para La Guinardera, las uvas de garnacha proceden de viñedos orientados al sur, las de Lluna Vella miran hacia el Noroeste, a 450 m. de altitud, en la finca Mas de Dalt, un viñedo de tan sólo 4 ha. El resultado, un vino especialmente mineral y muy fresco. Envejecido durante 11 meses en barricas de segundo vino de roble francés (90%) y americano de 300 L.

Priorat is located in La región del Priorato (Priorat), situada en la provincia de Tarragona, España, y reconocida con la máxima calidad al ser denominación de origen calificada. Es una zona montañosa, de origen volcánico, y con laderas escarpadas, de manera que se cultiva la viña en las características terrazas.
