The production region of A.O.C. Bergerac is located in 93 comunas de la región del suroeste de Francia alrededor de la ciudad de Bergerac en el departamento de Dordoña. Sus límites corresponden más o menos con los del Arrondissement de Bergerac, inmediatamente al este de la región vinícola de Burdeos. El área de Bergerac contiene 13 Appellations d'Origine Contrôlées (AOC) para vinos tintos, blancos (secos, dulces medios) y rosados. Los viñedos se extienden a través de la parte sur del departamento de Dordogne, el Arrondissement (distrito urbano) de Bergerac. El suelo de Bergerac también cuenta con un excelente drenaje debido a su proximidad al río Dordogne. Aproximadamente el quince por ciento del vino AOC de Bergerac se vende fuera de Francia, principalmente a Gran Bretaña, Bélgica, Alemania y los Países Bajos.
