En la segunda mitad del siglo XIX la familia Hidalgo comienza la actividad partiendo de soleras de vino y viñas de su propiedad. Bodegas Emilio Hidalgo se encuentra establecido desde sus orígenes en el casco antiguo de la ciudad de Jerez de la Frontera. A partir de 1970, ya constituida en sociedad anónima, desarrolla una importante actividad exportadora en los mercados de Inglaterra, Holanda, Alemania y Austria, así como los EE.UU., Japón, Dinamarca, Italia, Francia y Bélgica. En la actualidad se conservan extraordinarias partidas de vino y brandy que han sido continuadas, aumentadas y enriquecidas siendo la quinta generación de la familia fundadora la que se dedica a la tarea en las bodegas.
