The production region of A.O.C. Hermitage is located in La región vinícola del norte del Ródano, al sur de Lyon. La denominación procede de la ciudad de Tain l'Hermitage. Las vides crecen en el lado suroeste de una empinada colina de granito frente al sol de la tarde y se pueden dividir en varios viñedos más pequeños.
