Debe su nombre al Paralelo 45 Norte que está situado a 2 km de las Bodegas. Cerca también de allí, en la población de Pont d'Isère, construyeron un monumento en el que puede leerse "El sur empieza aquí". Envejecido parcialmente durante 2-3 meses en barricas de roble francés.

The production region of I.G.P. Vin de Pays Rhône is located in La región francesa de Rhône, la región vinícola del Ródano, en el sur de Francia, valle del Ródano. Está dividida en dos subregiones con distintas tradiciones vitivinícolas, el Ródano del Norte, al que se hace referencia como Ródano septentrional y el Ródano del Sur o Ródano méridional. La subregión del norte produce vinos tintos de la uva Syrah, a veces mezclada con uvas de vino blanco, y vinos blancos de las uvas Marsanne, Roussanne y Viognier. La subregión del sur produce una variedad de vinos tintos, blancos y rosados, a menudo mezclas de varias uvas, como en Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
