Fundada en el 1729, Ruinart fue la primera Maison de Champagne. Durante más de dos siglos, la familia, convertida en noble (pasó a llamarse Ruinart de Brimont en el 1817) ha dirigido la Maison con la misma constancia. El chardonnay es el alma de los Ruinart. Esta variedad, procedente principalmente de la Côte diciembre Blancos y de la montaña de Reims, es el corazón de todos sus vinos base.
