Empordà is located in La región de Ampurdán (Empordà), hasta 2006 denominada Ampurdán-Costa Brava, abarca la zona vinícola desde la Albera hasta la sierra de Rodas y la Garrotxa de Ampurdán, en España. El área de producción está distribuida en dos subzonas: 35 municipios al norte del Alto Ampurdán y 13 municipios al este del Bajo Ampurdán.
