Passorosso nace en el Etna, a un altitud entre 500 y 1100 metros sobre el nivel del mar, procedente de viñedos casi centenarios de la variedad nerello mascalese. En el panorama vitivinícola siciliano el del Etna es un territorio único y precioso que ofrece no solamente un paisaje entre surrealista y conmovedor, sino también unos vinos cuya elegancia, finura y mineralidad es difícil encontrar en otros tintos de la isla. Los vinos, además, presentan una especial concentración de sus aromas primarios como resultado de la gran diferencia térmica entre el día y la noche. Passorosso, el vino de entrada a la bodega Passopisciaro, se obtiene con uvas nerello mascalese procedentes de diversos parajes del Cru del Etna. De magnífico y brillante color rubí, en copa emana sugerentes aromas frutales y especiados, frutos rojos, violetas, pimienta y hierbas aromáticas, que juegan animadamente junto a una rica mineralidad. En boca, su frescura y textura crujiente preceden unos frutos rojos que parecen masticarse, grosella y cereza especialmente. De taninos presentes, en el paladar fluye suave, limpio y facilmente, con un largo final de agradables referencias minerales.
