Los Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva son vinos muy ricos y elegantes, vinos que apetece beber y beber. Su larga crianza, durante diez años, con dos trasiegas anuales, llevadas a cabo a mano, les otorga unas características especiales que los hace particularmente longevos; son vinos que, si han sido bien conservados, pueden ser disfrutados al cabo de muchos, muchos años. El Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva es un vino delicado, de nariz muy fina, seco y suave en boca, redondo y preciso como todos los de esta emblemática casa, un vino que se recuerda siempre y que acompaña deliciosamente carnes, aves y pescados sin condimentos fuertes. Es el vino ideal para las celebraciones y ocasiones más especiales. Para la crianza sólo se emplean barricas usadas, con muy poco aporte tánico. La madera nueva dominaría la estructura y aromas del vino.

The production region of D.O.Ca. Rioja is located in Las regiones de las comunidades autónomas de La Rioja y el País Vasco mayoritariamente, y en menor medida de Navarra y Castilla y León. Por la diversidad orográfica y climática se distinguen tres subzonas de producción: Rioja Alta (76 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 1, Miranda de Ebro, en la provincia de Burgos, Castilla y León), Rioja Baja (42 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 8 en Navarra) y Rioja Alavesa (15 términos municipales en la provincia de Álava, País Vasco).
