Un vino que refleja la dureza del terreno donde se crió, un suelo extremadamente pobre, muy pedregoso, calcáreo y con textura arenosa, en el que las cepas de cabernet sauvignon, de baja producción, ofrecen una uva cálida, compleja, de carácter mediterráneo. Mas Vilella - Serra del Rotllat simboliza, con su etiqueta, lo rural y el concepto de masía, tradicional y mediterránea. Envejecido durante 13 meses en barricas nuevas de roble francés.

The production region of D.O. Penedès is located in La región catalana del Penedés, en España. Comprende 47 términos municipales en el sur de la provincia de Barcelona, y 16 términos municipales en la provincia de Tarragona. Se divide en tres subzonas: Penedès Superior, situada en el interior y en la montaña, con escasa producción debido a las condiciones de cultivo, pero de una gran calidad, Penedès Medio, situada al sudeste y la de mayor producción, y Penedès Inferior en la zona costera.
