Áster Finca El Otero nace de la única finca que La Rioja Alta encontró plantada en Anguix (Burgos) cuando adquirió Bodegas Áster en la Ribera del Duero. Se trata de unos viñedos de tinta fina plantados en 1961 que reflejan perfectamente las características de este terruño único y repleto de sabiduría, y en cuanto al vino, el primer Áster que realiza esta fermentación maloláctica en barrica. Envejecido en barricas nuevas de roble francés durante 14 meses.

The production region of D.O. Ribera del Duero is located in La región de la cuenca del río Duero, de unos 115 kilómetros de longitud y 35 de anchura, situada en la confluencia de las provincias de Soria, con 19 municipios, Burgos, con 60 municipios, Segovia, con 4 municipios y Valladolid, con 19 municipios, pertenecientes todos ellos a la comarca vallisoletana de Campo de Peñafiel. Comienza aproximadamente por el este en San Esteban de Gormaz y se extiende hasta Quintanilla de Onésimo en el oeste.
