Elaborado con uva tempranillo de antiguos viñedos con más de 60 años, ubicados en pequeñas terrazas y balcones naturales de la Sierra de Cantabria. Envejecido durante 24 meses en barricas (al 50%) de roble francés y de roble americano. Posterior reposo en botella durante un mínimo de 18 meses más.

The production region of D.O.Ca. Rioja is located in Las regiones de las comunidades autónomas de La Rioja y el País Vasco mayoritariamente, y en menor medida de Navarra y Castilla y León. Por la diversidad orográfica y climática se distinguen tres subzonas de producción: Rioja Alta (76 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 1, Miranda de Ebro, en la provincia de Burgos, Castilla y León), Rioja Baja (42 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 8 en Navarra) y Rioja Alavesa (15 términos municipales en la provincia de Álava, País Vasco).
