La Garnacha de Scala Dei es una garnacha de montaña, de altura, pura fruta y frescor, genuina, prioratina, mineral como no podía ser de otro modo, y con un toque rústico. Una garnacha muy jugosa y fácil de beber, sabrosa y elegante. Si quisiéramos pintar este vino sobre un lienzo le pondríamos color azul y rojo oscuro. Por su frescor y su profundidad, y por el color de sus aromas y sabores: frutas azules (arándanos, aunque también algunas rojas, pero intensas, frutillos del bosque), violetas, gominolas y caramelo, ese dulzor intenso tan típico de la garnacha. En boca es enérgico, con un tanino vivo pero maduro, amable. Es muy goloso y al beberlo se aprecian unas notas de pan, de chocolate y también de pasas, con esa sensación áspera y seca, terrosa, que le confieren calidez y otorgan un carácter rústico complementando su gran frescor. Tiene una acidez realmente fantástica, y aun siendo un vino joven, su gran calidad nos permitirá disfrutarlo durante varios años. No sólo es largo en boca, será longevo. La Garnacha de Scala Dei se nutre principalmente de los viñedos Maset, Parada, Closos, Escorial y Forsans, viñas de edades comprendidas entre los 15 y los 25 años, plantadas en terrazas, a altitudes elevadas, algunas sobre suelos de arcilla roja, que aportan frescor, y otras sobre suelos de llicorella, responsable de la mineralidad y la acidez del vino. Para la elaboración se utilizan pequeños depósitos abiertos de 7000 Kg y con una parte de la uva sin despalillar. El vino permanece de 6 a 8 meses en depósitos de acero inoxidable hasta su embotellado.

Antigüedad del viñedo: 1993-2003.
