Un bolgheri atípico. Al fin y al cabo, la variedad mayoritaria de este elegante Antillo es la sangiovese, con un 70% del coupage, una elección que no sorprenderá a nadie que esté familiarizado con la filosofía de Poder Guado al Melo, firme defensor de las buenas tradiciones, la salubridad de los vinos y la honestidad en el trabajo. (No hay que olvidar que, aunque hoy predominen las variedades internacionales en la zona, la sangiovese ha sido siempre la variedad más representativa de la región y parte de la tradición vitícola de Bolgheri). Los viñedos de los que proceden las uvas con las que se elabora Guado al Medo Antillo se encuentran en suelos montañosos de origen aluvial y se benefician de la calidez del clima mediterráneo y de una marcada diferencia térmica entre el día y la noche. Antillo, cuyo nombre significa "lugar soleado", es un vino honesto y lleno de vida. En nariz dominan los aromas frutales de moras, grosellas y cerezas, pero también las especias dulces, las flores y alguna sutil nota vegetal. En boca ofrece una perfecta armonía, fruta crujiente, frescor y una buena estructura tánica. Sin duda, un vino genuinamente elegante.
