Elaborado a partir de garnachas viejas provenientes del pago de las Suertes, este vino sugerente y complejo que se aparta de la corriente dominante de la D.O. representa un claro homenaje a las tierras del Somontano. Mascún es el cañón más emblemático de la Sierra de Guara, y su significado etimológico es "Casa de hadas". Además es el nombre elegido por la bodega para denominar a sus mejores vinos. Envejecido durante 12 meses en barricas de roble americano.

The production region of D.O. Somontano is located in La región en la provincia de Huesca que tiene como centro la localidad de Barbastro. Zona verde y abrupta, en ella la vid se cultiva en las terrazas de los valles que desembocan en el límite norte de la depresión del Ebro. Somontano significa al pie del monte y define perfectamente el área geográfica donde se asienta esta denominación de origen, ya que se trata de una zona de transición entre el valle del río Ebro y los Pirineos, también conocida como pre-pirineo.
