Cincuenta diferentes parcelas de entre las mejores de la zona, unos suelos calcáreos y ricos en galestro y unos viñedos de treinta años de edad que crecen a entre 220 y 510 metros de altitud. Estos son los orígenes del Gran Selezione Di Castello di Fonterutoli, un vino que es toda una referencia de esta denominación. Con un envejecimiento de entre 16 y 20 meses en pequeñas barricas de roble francés (el 60% de ellas nuevas), la sangiovese domina un coupage en el que la acompañan pequeñas aportaciones de malvasía negra y colorino. El resultado, un Chianti Classico de absoluta elegancia, redondo y aromático, ejemplo de un estilo que ya es histórico e internacional. De un bellísimo color rubí, en nariz se muestra muy refinado, con complejas notas frutales, florales y especiadas. Cereza madura, violeta, cuero, grafito, pimienta negra y menta. En boca su entrada es potente y enérgica, con taninos muy finos, evidentes en todo momento pero bien equilibrados por una sabrosa frescura. Color brillante, amplia aromática y trago armónico: un Gran Selezione, sin duda.
