Quindals nace en el extremo norteoriental de Cataluña, dentro del Parque Natural del Cabo de Creus, en suelo pizarroso, al pie del monasterio de Sant Pere de Roda, bajo la influencia de la tramontana y a 3 km. del mar. Envejecido durante 12 meses en barricas de roble y, posteriormente, en botella.

The production region of D.O. Empordà is located in La región de Ampurdán (Empordà), hasta 2006 denominada Ampurdán-Costa Brava, abarca la zona vinícola desde la Albera hasta la sierra de Rodas y la Garrotxa de Ampurdán, en España. El área de producción está distribuida en dos subzonas: 35 municipios al norte del Alto Ampurdán y 13 municipios al este del Bajo Ampurdán.
