En un recóndito lugar, Sant Climent Sescebes, aún conviven antiguos artesanos que, a pesar de la dureza de los fuertes vientos, siguen trabajando en un entorno rural donde la maleza y las hierbas aromáticas abundan. Sant Climent es de los pocos pueblos que conserva su horno de leña artesanal. Tan artesanal como el Celler Martí Fabra Carreras; una masía que huye de la modernidad y la tecnicidad. Aquí impera el silencio, la rusticidad... algo auténtico que hace de sus vinos verdaderas obras llenas de humanismo y sin engaños; vinos donde el maquillaje no está presente. Son excitantes todos los vinos de la bodega porque son una fiel reproducción de las sensaciones de la vida en la comarca. La fortaleza, la dureza, la rusticidad del clima y el viento son transferidos a su vino tinto Martí Fabra Vinyes Velles. El precioso color teja, asombroso por su juventud, es fruto del buen uso de la garnacha y la samsó, como se conoce la cariñena en la zona, variedades de poca intensidad colorante y con tendencia a la oxidación. Predomina una aromática honesta de cueros, vainillas arropada por las frutas negras tales como la mora y el cassis, bien concentradas. La ausencia de maquillaje hace que el vino sea algo agreste y de cálida textura, bien acompañada por un largo frescor mineral. Envejecido durante 8 meses en barricas de roble francés.

The production region of D.O. Empordà is located in La región de Ampurdán (Empordà), hasta 2006 denominada Ampurdán-Costa Brava, abarca la zona vinícola desde la Albera hasta la sierra de Rodas y la Garrotxa de Ampurdán, en España. El área de producción está distribuida en dos subzonas: 35 municipios al norte del Alto Ampurdán y 13 municipios al este del Bajo Ampurdán.
