Ama es el nombre de un pequeño pueblo que se erige sobre las colinas al sudoeste de Gaiole in Chianti, a casi 500 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Un bello y fértil paisaje donde los viñedos y olivares se suceden hasta el horizonte en una imagen encantadora. El Castello di Ama posee cerca de 80 has que se sitúan alrededor de esta localidad, divididas en 4 parcelas con los nombres de Bellavista, San Lorenzo, La Casuccia y Montebuoni. Con las variedades sangiovese y merlot procedentes de las cepas más jóvenes de estos viñedos, se elabora el Chianti Classico Ama. De suelos tan diversos (arcillo-calcáreo en Bellavista; calcáreo en San Lorenzo; arcilloso y pedregoso en Casuccia; muy variado en Montebuoni), nace un Chianti Clásico seductor y muy equilibrado. Un vino que invita al sorbo con un colorido y complejo bouquet del que destacan aromas de cereza, frutos del bosque y rosas, junto a otros de tabaco, pimienta y notas dulces de canela. En boca es sabroso, equilibrado y limpio. Un vino gentil, inmediato, elegante, refinado... simplemente irresistible.
