Roda y Roda I son dos vinos que han sido criados de forma conjunta hasta el momento en que llevan un año de crianza. Es entonces cuando se realiza el ensamblaje definitivo de uno u otro vino. El carácter del Roda I es la fruta negra, la profundidad y las notas minerales, un vino que fluye con mayor lentitud. Se recomienda decantar antes de servir. Envejecido durante 16 meses en barricas de roble francés (50% nuevas, 50% de un vino). Posteriormente descansa en botella durante 20 meses más.

The production region of D.O.Ca. Rioja is located in Las regiones de las comunidades autónomas de La Rioja y el País Vasco mayoritariamente, y en menor medida de Navarra y Castilla y León. Por la diversidad orográfica y climática se distinguen tres subzonas de producción: Rioja Alta (76 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 1, Miranda de Ebro, en la provincia de Burgos, Castilla y León), Rioja Baja (42 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 8 en Navarra) y Rioja Alavesa (15 términos municipales en la provincia de Álava, País Vasco).
