Elaborado a partir de una selección de cepas de más de 30 años de edad, cultivadas en la finca Viña Lanciano, vendimiadas manualmente. Envejecido durante 12 meses en barricas de roble francés Troncaise y 6 meses más en barricas de roble ruso. Posterior reposo en botella durante 18 meses más.

The production region of D.O.Ca. Rioja is located in Las regiones de las comunidades autónomas de La Rioja y el País Vasco mayoritariamente, y en menor medida de Navarra y Castilla y León​. Por la diversidad orográfica y climática se distinguen tres subzonas de producción: Rioja Alta (76 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 1, Miranda de Ebro, en la provincia de Burgos, Castilla y León), Rioja Baja (42 términos municipales en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja y 8 en Navarra) y Rioja Alavesa (15 términos municipales en la provincia de Álava, País Vasco).
