Las viejas cepas de bonarda conducidas en pérgolas sobre los suelos arenosos de El Mirador, en Rivadavia a 650 msnm, estaban a punto de ser arrancadas cuando Alejandro Vigil las encontró. Pudo rescatar 5 hectáreas con las que ahora elabora El Enemigo Bonarda. La variedad bonarda, que paulatinamente gana importancia en Argentina, aún ocupa el recuerdo de muchas familias en su Italia natal. Suele ofrecer vinos complejos pero asequibles, de amable tanicidad y aromas seductores, que han dejado de formar parte únicamente de cortes de vino tinto para ocupar ya el segundo lugar entre las uvas tintas argentinas, tan sólo por detrás de la malbec. El Enemigo Bonarda luce color violáceo con reflejos azulados. Su nariz es rica, de una complejidad inusual, con aromas intensos que recuerdan a las cerezas picotas y a los frutillos silvestres. El chocolate negro y un leve recuerdo licoroso acompañan un halo de frescor de hierbas aromáticas y eucalipto. En boca, una entrada dulce nos conduce a un centro de fruta madura adornada de regaliz, café y vainilla. Su tacto es de una elegancia sublime y combina los recuerdos arenosos del viñedo con los afinadísimos taninos de la madera. Su final es largo, fresco y delicadamente seductor, adornado de violetas y exhibiendo la elegancia habitual de los vinos de El Enemigo. Envejecido durante 18 meses en barricas de roble: 70% de roble francés (2º y 3º uso) y 30% en roble americano.
