Gramona es la unión de dos sagas familiares ligadas al mundo del vino: los Batlle y los Gramona. Los primeros fueron una familia de viticultores y bodegueros establecida en Sant Sadurní. Los segundos, formados como enólogos a principios del siglo XX, han dado nombre a la empresa, considerada hoy en día una de las más prestigiosas del mundo del cava. Actualmente, es la quinta generación de los Gramona-Batlle, Jaume y Xavier, la encargada de gestionar la bodega y seguir elaborando cava según el método tradicional, pasando de generación en generación el amor por la tierra y la vid de sus antepasados. Su último paso ha sido la modernización del Celler Batlle, convirtiéndolo en una bodega futurista construida bajo las viñas, con capacidad para seguir elaborando algunos de los mejores cavas y vinos de España.

The production region of D.O. Penedès is located in La región catalana del Penedés, en España. Comprende 47 términos municipales en el sur de la provincia de Barcelona, y 16 términos municipales en la provincia de Tarragona. Se divide en tres subzonas: Penedès Superior, situada en el interior y en la montaña, con escasa producción debido a las condiciones de cultivo, pero de una gran calidad, Penedès Medio, situada al sudeste y la de mayor producción, y Penedès Inferior en la zona costera.
