El cava también se elabora en otros 159 municipios de España, de las provincias de Barcelona (63 municipios), Tarragona (52 municipios), La Rioja (18 municipios), Lérida (12 municipios), Gerona (5 municipios), Álava (3 municipios), Zaragoza (2 municipios), Navarra (2 municipios), Badajoz (1 municipio) y Valencia (1 municipio), que en su conjunto configuran la zona de producción denominada Región del Cava.
