La casa G.H. Mumm está situada al norte de Francia, en Reims. Fue fundada por tres hermanos: Jacobus, Gottlieb y Phillip Mumm, enólogos alemanes del valle del Rin, y por G. Heuser y Friedrich Giesler en marzo de 1827 como P.A. Mumm Giesler. La marca Mumm es famosa por su cinta roja (cordon rouge).
