En 1919 Nicomedes García se hace cargo de la destilería que años atrás había puesto en marcha su padre. Elaborando numerosas mezclas consiguió encontrar una que se distinguía del resto de anisados de la época, consistente en un destilado de grano de anís y badiana mezclados con agua desmineralizada, jarabe de azúcar y alcoholes de melaza. Acababa de nacer el Anís Castellana que aun hoy se sigue elaborando a partir de su fórmula original. Se comercializan dos variantes, una dulce de 35º y otra seca, de 45º.
