Fue en 1929 cuando Julián Barceló emigró de Mallorca a la Republica Dominicana. Al año siguiente de establecerse en la isla fundó Barceló&Co. con la intención de fabricar el mejor ron de la isla. En la actualidad, la tercera generación de la familia Barceló sigue dirigiendo Barceló&Co. Este Barceló Imperial, de color ámbar rojizo y brillante, en nariz nos aparece aromático y fragante, ligeramente acaramelado y frutal. Profundo aroma a roble. Envejecido en barrica de roble americano que anteriormente había contenido bourbon, su sabor es añejo, ligeramente dulce, con retrogusto a roble por su envejecimiento en barrica.
